Chile based mountain filmmaker and photographer, shooting remote and technical athlete photography from Patagonia peaks to scientific expeditions in the high Central Andes to bike commercials in the Atacama Desert, since 2014.
Matt Maynard is a British adventure film-maker, photographer, internationally published writer, mountain leader, competitive ultra runner and MSc climate change scientist. Since 2014 he has been based permanently in the central Andes mountains above Santiago, Chile. Matt´s work uses immersive documentary-style storytelling to create still and moving images for remote expeditions, commercial clients, scientists, publishing houses and events. His work has been regularly published by Geographical magazine, Outside, BBC, the Guardian amongst others. Some of his commercial clients include Patagonia, Adidas, Garmin, Specialized and Rab. In 2020 he directed and filmed the adventure film Wala on Isla Navarino, the world’s southerly most inhabited island. In 2022 Wala was selected as part of BANFF world tour and in 2023 it continues to be screened at adventure film festivals around the globe. Matt is also the joint-founder and Head of Sustainability at Earth Rise Productions.
